SEMA Show 2009 was not at grandiose as years past (for obvious reasons), but it was nevertheless a great event. And even though the number of vendors may have been down and the displays less fanciful, the ladies were spectacular as always. This is the one aspect of SEMA that stays consistent in good times or in bad, the promotional models are always bountiful and beautiful, and this makes us happy. This is the final batch of pictures of the booth babes and girls from SEMA. Enjoy!
Here is the second installment of the lovely ladies of SEMA Show 2009. It was a fantastic event this year and the promo models are always a welcome addition to the wheels, performance parts and show cars. Check out the first installment of SEMA Show 2009 Girls Pictures here. Enjoy the photos!
We will have several more batches to follow. So stay tuned...
Scion always seems to wow us at every auto show. Not only is their display area usually the most creative, but since customization and tuning is woven into the very fabric of the brand, they throw out some really amazing automotive presentations. The 2009 SEMA Show was no different. This year featured xB Tuner Challenge Cars from Mummbles Marketing, Eneri Abillar and Bowls along with a pair of xD customization from 0-60 Mag and Kogi. Scion also featured our favorite car on display, the Epic Cartel tC (shown above).
This year's SEMA Show served as a launch pad for the Mavizen TTX02 electric motorcycle, a highly anticipated green bike that will test its mettle at the TTXGP race in May of next year. Azhar Hussain, whose name may be familiar as the founder of TTGXP, is the entrepreneur behind this race-bike. It's still a rumor but it looks like the chassis of the TTX02 is based on the KTM RC8 superbike, a solid platform well known for superior handling at high speeds. As a forgone conclusion, this new dynamo should perform quite well.
The Mavizen TTX02 is powered by two Agni 95 electric motors that output a total of 100 peak horsepower. Torque should be absolutely phenomenal. Three lithium-ion battery packs provide all of the juice required. No word on the mileage yet, but it will at least be capable of running the 38 miles of the TTXGP Isle of Man race course.
The SEMA Show has something for everyone. It has everything from lifted cars to lowered trucks, new turbos the size of Jessica Simpson ('09 Jessica, not '07), and more wheels than a freight train. It sounds like a perfect place to go, but “everything” also means “anything”. When you go to sleep you can dream Natalie Portman or Cathy Bates. The Caccia Customs Cars Ghepardo is the latter.
The underpinnings are a strange incestuous marriage between a 2002 Camaro frame and a 2002 Corvette's motor and suspension. The engine is mid-mounted, to give the car a “supercar-ish” identity. This sounds like something thought up on a forum for Chevy fans after a pint of moonshine. So with an F-body skeleton and a Vette heartbeat, Caccia started the real work for this project, giving it a body.
There is no real story here other than the fact we came across this "murdered out" Bentley Continental GT at SEMA 2009 and were in awe standing in its presence. Bentley coupes signify plush, comfortable high-snobiety motoring in an uber-luxury package. This, however, looks like it just killed something and is proud of it. Sporting a matte black satin finish, monster Nutek wheels with black insets and lips along with blacked out grills and air inlets, this GT just looks wicked. The addition of a Premier4509 widebody kit is just icing on the cake. This thing is ready to dominate the streets of any city in America. Even the Batmobile would have to take pause.
For almost 30 years, Steve Saleen has been building fast cars. Recently, he launched SMS Supercars, a full-service coach-building shop that takes new muscle cars (like the Challenger, Mustang, or Camaro), adds aero parts, suspension and horsepower and sells them as their own turnkey solutions. His work seems to be only getting better. SMS's Challenger 570 is one of the best looking Challengers I've ever seen, new or old. Well, finally Steve Saleen is going to share how he went so fast with the rest of the world through his retail division SMS Superparts.
Steve Saleen has had great success in the motorsports world, ever since first starting Saleen Autosport in 1983. The first car he built was a Mustang, and its first test was the grueling 24 hour endurance race at Mosport, which it won. He went on to build the incredible Saleen S7, one of my favorite super cars of all time.
Just can't wait for GM to release a convertible option for the new Chevrolet Camaro? Then feast your eyes on the Drop Top Customs Chevy Camaro SS Convertible. When the new Camaro came out people went nuts. Everyone loves 60's muscle cars, and the retro look has been hugely profitable for Ford. So it was only inevitable that a revitalized Camaro would emerge on the scene.
The old Camaros were one brand of the car that truly deserved the term “bad ass.” They just looked sinister. The new Camaro is no different. It has the same burly curves, low canopy, and headlights that seem to be on the look out. It's like the car is up to no good. As a convertible the classic Camaro was really two cars in one. With the top up, it kept the “angry” look. With it down, it was about fun, sunny days and car cruises.
