Top 10 Under-a-Liter Sports Cars title

When most people think of sports cars, they probably think of two seats, maybe an open top, and stupendous agility. Of course, that agility tends to be compromised the larger and more powerful a sports car is. Thus, designers and engineers who are serious about giving their new machines genuine handling prowess put a lot of effort into reducing their weight.

And, as we all know, the lighter a vehicle is, the less power it needs to get moving and keep moving. So it’s only natural that many of history’s smallest sports cars were powered by engines displacing less than one liter (or 61 cubic inches for all you metric-phobes). But rather than try to list all of the sports cars that fit this criteria, we’ll instead tell you about 10 of the most iconic, most entertaining and, yes, cutest members of the under-1,000cc club.

The 7th Annual Spring Festival of LXs is a huge gathering of LX owners (LX is the code name for the chassis for the 300, Charger, and Magnum) from 25 states and 5 countries, which started out as a small forum meet. The Chrysler group eventually made it official, this time bringing out their executives to meet and greet their fellow LX enthusiasts, and unveiling their new Challenger model. Needless to say, it was a great time, with hundreds of amazing cars, chill vibes, drifting, and good music.

When I first walked into the event, I felt pretty lost. Originally being from the import/euro scene, I wasn't exactly sure what I was seeing as I walked across the initial set of cars. When the new retro vehicles started coming from Chrysler and Dodge, I was excited by the new design direction starting from the 300. Then came the arrival of the Charger, Magnum, and the Challenger, which I was also very excited to see. However, on the rare occasion I did see them on the street, most of them weren't modified. This was very disappointing for me because a car like the Challenger has a lot of potential.

2011 Los Angeles Auto Show Top 10 Title

It’s mid-November, and you know what that means, right? Well, yes, it does mean that radio stations and retailers are trying to cram Christmas down everybody’s throat before next week’s turkeys have even been decapitated, much less carved, but the answer we were looking for is that it’s time once again for the automotive world to converge on the intersection of Pico and Figueroa and occupy L.A. (or at least its convention center) for the Los Angeles Auto Show. And we were part of that not-so-angry mob during the press preview days.

On most days, Rodeo Drive is known for stores featuring famous designers such as Bijan, Zegna, and Ralph Lauren. But each Father's Day, Rodeo Drive becomes home to another breed of famous designers, such as Scaglietti, Pininfarina, and Zagato. This year's Rodeo Drive Concours d'Elegance celebrated "The Art of Italian Motoring".

Fiat was selected as the featured marque in celebration of the North American launch of the Fiat 500. As always, there were plenty of other marques, including some phenomenal Ferrari models such as Bruce Meyer's 1957 Testarossa seen in the photo above. Although this particular car isn't one of the more famous "pontoon fender" Testarossas, there is no doubt that it is a rolling piece of art.

Top 25 Concept Car Atrocities Title

Ever since the first concept car – the Buick Y-Job of 1938 – rolled into public view, these earthbound trial balloons floated by automakers have become a staple at the world’s major motor shows and other venues. Whether they are being used to preview a pending production model, show off the company’s new design direction, or simply serving as a wheeled flight of fancy, concept cars draw massive attention.

Sometimes, though, that attention isn’t of the positive variety. Sometimes the ideas of designers are a little too “out there” to mesh with the tastes of the automotive media and/or the public. Here are 25 such nightmarish dream cars that run the gamut from head-scratching to sputum-summoning.
