This past weekend Sub5Zero traveled once again to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula to bring you coverage of American Le Mans Series at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway. After 6 grueling hours, Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf took their Honda HPD ARX-03a to the top step on the podium.

TIKT Corvette ZR1 is Mad as Hell and Not Going to Take it Anymore

Many, if not all, of the critics who contended that the Chevrolet Corvette would never be a true supercar changed their tune when the current generation ZR1 arrived in 2009. With carbon brakes shared with no less than the Ferrari FXX, electromagnetic shock absorber fluid and a supercharged 6.2L V8 putting down 638hp, the ZR1 is armed with the tools needed to not only keep up with many of those hoity-toity furrin’ exotics, but straight up spank them in a cloud of tire smoke and a soundtrack that’s as American as Toby Keith eating a double cheeseburger while a bald eagle sits atop his head.

But even with its blistering performance, there's still room for improvement, since GM has a standing army of lawyers looking over the engineers' shoulders, reminding them to take things like warranties and safety concerns into account. Most tuners don't have these Jiminy Crickets holding them back, meaning they can unleash that extra potential. And German tuner TIKT Performance is doing exactly that with the Corvette ZR1 based Triple X.

Top 10 Cars We're Thankful For title

Unless you’re living under a rock (and we doubt you are, since very few of them have internet access), you probably know that today is Thanksgiving here in the U.S. of A. And while there are many more recently established traditions observed on this holiday – playing touch football with the relatives in the backyard (or, if you prefer, the alley where the annoying neighbor kid and his buddies like to get together and smoke pot), camping out in front of stores for Black Friday sales, and getting felt up by an airport security screener while you’re still nursing a tryptophan hangover – the root of the last Thursday in November’s significance is giving thanks for the good things and good people one has in his or her life. And dag nabbit, not enough folks these days seem very interested in doing that.

To make things easier, we decided to compile a list of new cars we’re most thankful exist. So even if you can’t get psyched about family and friends who love you and a roof over your head (or maybe you have neither of those things), we’re pretty confidant you can feel some gratitude toward the deity/all-powerful force of your choosing for allowing these rides to be. After all, you do come here for cars and nothing else, right? Anyway, on with the show!

While nowhere near as popular as it was in the years leading up to the Great Depression (the first one, just so we're on the same page), coachbuilding has been enjoying a bit of a renaissance lately. But instead of luxurious wire-wheeled leviathans like the ones found in the world of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s best-known work, today’s custom-bodied creations are usually based on sports cars and exotics, including the Chevrolet Corvette.

In fact, a couple years ago, the Corvette was the basis for the Spada Codatronca, a snazzy looking rebody of the C6 Vette created by the Italian father and son design team of Ercole and Paolo Spada. It gained so much notoriety that it was even included in a downloadable car pack for Forza Motorsport 3. So how do you top that? Well, you can start by adding muscle and chopping the top.

SuperCar Sunday: Movie Cars and SuperCars Invade Woodland Hills on Any Given Sunday

There's no doubt that Southern California has a huge car culture. Pretty much any day of the week, you can probably find 2 or 3 car-related events to attend. For those who live in the area, making the decision on which event to attend becomes even more difficult during weekends. Many of you may have heard of a “little gathering” known as Cars & Coffee – which brings about 300+ cars every Saturday morning to Irvine, CA. But for those who live a bit further north, SuperCar Sunday is a fantastic alternative.
