Unless you’re participating in a medical study involving sensory deprivation (And who doesn't love those?), we're quite certain you’re aware that the Holiday Season (known in simpler, allegedly more insensitive times as Christmastime) is upon us. And whether you’re proclivities during this time of year lean towards hanging tinsel and trinkets on an indoor conifer, symbolically lighting one candle in a stylish candle holder every night, or standing on your roof in the nude while banging a tambourine against your belly and whispering your prayers to the Cantaloupe King and his Magic Curling Iron (We don’t judge.), chances are there will be at least some gift-giving going on, if there hasn’t been any already.

With that in mind, we’ve concocted the following list of 25 great gearhead gift ideas. The Porsche 911 GT3 is a track-bred monster that begs to be pushed hard. But let's just say you are someone that wants the bragging rights of owning a car like this but don't want to lose out on the creature comforts of a daily driver. Enter German tuning company Magnat. They have just unveiled a program for the 911 GT3, dubbed "Snowmobile", that looks to take Stuttgarts high-performance beast and tame it for the sensibilities of the average upper-crust Joe. 

The exterior mods are kept to a minimum but provide the car with its nickname. A special white paint job with black striping running front to rear add to the stunning look of the Porsche 911 GT3. In addition, a custom wheel and tire package round out the aesthetic enhancements. Special OZ Ultraleggera HLT CT wheels measuring 19 x 8.5 up front and 19 x 12 in rear are wrapped in Yokohoma Advan Sport tires. The blacked-out rims go well with the overall motif. 

For those who weren’t paying attention, Friday was April Fool’s Day. We, however, take our jobs as close observers of automotive tastes and trends very, very seriously. Like dead serious. The annual tech-geek powwow known as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES to its friends) may be over and done ‘til next January, but the impressions made by many of the products featured at this year’s show will remain for years to come. This should prove especially true in the realm of automotive electronics, where some truly game-changing gadgets, widgets and thingamabobs had their coming out parties.
