Novitec Rosso Gives Alfa Romeo MiTo A Bigger Bark

We normally bring news of Novitec Rosso putting out amazing tuning packages for Ferrari, their bread and butter operation. But lately the Company has been cosying up with another member of the Fiat family, Alfa Romeo. And strangely enough, they chose the super petite Alfa Romeo MiTo as their newest offering. Novitec first started by bumping up the 1.4-liter four-banger to 186 hp, a process known as NOVITEC POWERJET 2. By adding 31 hp and 22 lb-ft of torque they knocked 0.7 seconds off the 0 to 62 mph sprint, coming in at 7.4 second.

Okay, so it's not really a sub-5-zero car but we're talking about Novitec here so we'll let it slide. The MiTo's diesel engines also get reworked with new ECUs for the 1.3 and 1.6 JTD motors that add 20 hp and 24 hp respectively along with a 34 lb-ft jump in torque. This is available as the NOVITEC POWERRAIL 5 module.

Novitec Rosso also offers an aerodynamic-enhancement kit for the Alfa Romeo MiTo which includes new left and right front spoilers, side rocker panels along with a roof spoiler and rear apron. Novitec sport springs lower the ride height by 40 millimeters. If this doesn't meet your needs, there is also the option of getting a coil-over suspension with adjustable ride height and adjustable dampers that can drop the car between 35 and 65 millimeters.

In any case, either option, when paired with the body kit, gives the MiTo a really sporty lowered appearance. Stainless-steel exhaust systems are available with one, two or four tailpipes. To round out the package, Novitec offers their N8 multispoke wheels in size 18x7.5J mated with Pirelli high-performance tires.

This is a solid all-round package by Novitec Rosso for Alfa Romeo MiTo. I will say that it would have been nice to see Novitec best Alfa Romeo's own MiTo GTA, with it's 1.8-liter turbo engine putting out 240-hp. But, that said, this package offers a great balance of performance and price.
