Lingenfelter Unveils Supercharger Pulley Kit for the Cadillac CTS-V

2009 Cadillac CTS-V

For most enthusiasts, the second generation Cadillac CTS-V is about as good as it gets in the übersedan world. With a 556hp, 551 lb.-ft supercharged 6.2L V8, a choice of a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission, handsome styling, beautifully-finished cabin, and the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record for a sedan (until the Porsche Panamera Turbo arrived, anyway), who could ask for anything more? Well apparently, some people can; why else would Lingenfelter Performance Engineering see fit to create a supercharger pulley upgrade kit for it?

“Our new supercharger pulley upgrade kit produces excellent horsepower and torque improvements, while maintaining a safe level of boost and supercharger RPM,” said LPE owner Ken Lingenfelter. “This is another of our innovative products in which we use leading edge engineering and technology to take a vehicle to the next level. It's what we do at Lingenfelter.”

The kit (seen above after installation) includes the pulley, a serpentine belt, a supercharger isolator coupling, and a Lingenfelter logo-emblazoned air duct. The kit ups the maximum boost to between 12 and 13 psi, pumping the LSA’s output up to a downright meaty 630hp and 630 lb.-ft, which is 8hp less and 26 lb.-ft more than the similar LS9 found in the Corvette ZR1. Take note, however, that the kit requires a reprogramming of the ECM, which is not included but is available from Lingenfelter. The kit retails for $589.95 if you want to install it yourself, or you can send components or the whole car to LPE for installation.
