Ferrari Partners with Chinese Artist Lu Hao for 12 Limited Edition 599 GTB Fiorano

China Limited Edition Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano

China isn't exactly the first place that comes to mind when you think of spotting exotic cars. However, recently the Chinese market has been heating up and is becoming an increasingly critical part of the world for high-end automakers. The volume of wealthy people who can afford supercars is growing by leaps and bounds and Ferrari has taken notice. As such, the company is cementing their relationship with the Chinese consumer by offering a special edition based on the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. I know you're thinking that maybe the prancing horse badging is all being replaced by fire-breathing dragons (wouldn't that be cool!) but alas, it is not so...

The Red Dragon edition (of course not its official name) will sport Ferrari's special Handling GTB package. This includes a modified magnetorheological suspension, stiffer springs, upgraded tires, a thicker roll bar, Alcantera upholstery and lots of extra carbon fiber.

But more importantly this car will feature plenty of special highlights designed by Lu Hao, a well-known and celebrated Chinese artist. The tachometer, start button and name plaque of the 599 GTB are accented with ancient Chinese characters known as  "Xiao Zhuan". A special black leather duffel bag with Marco Polo's map of the Silk Road sits in the trunk. And the starter button glows jade green. The GTB Fiorano sports a Rosso Fuoco "fire red" paintjob with a unique gray roof and mirror housings to give it a 599XX motif.

This China Limited Edition model of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano  will be outfitted with the standard 6.0 liter V12 engine with 620 hp and 608 Nm of torque. Only twelve examples will be offered in a country with 1,000,000,000+ people. My extensive math calculations have led me to believe that these cars will probably sell pretty fast.
