Many thoughts come to mind when I look at something like the McLaren SLR Red Gold Dream from Swiss tuner Ueli Anliker Design. First, "Dream"seems more like nightmare. Second, from what warped parallel universe of aesthetic discern did this creation emerge? Third, how do you take a car like the SLR McLaren that is so cool and make it so uncool while thinking that you are actually making it cooler? Dubai has an amazing assortment of the world's most exclusive and phenomenol automobiles but also an amazing penchant for gaudy precious metal plating and accessorization.

Let's examine the step-by-step approach to destroying a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren:

Step 1: Paint it bright red

Step 2: Use 24 karat gold plating on the wheels, trim, sills and all accents

Step 3: Install a cow-catcher on the front fender (you know the nice V-shaped wedge used by trains to fling about errant cattle wandering on the tracks)

Step 4: Slap a Ford Mustang wing on the truck lid

Step 5: Plaster the interior with more 24 carat gold on the dash, center console, steering wheel and throw in some rubies just to make it bling

Step 6: Coat the upholstery with gold flakes just to give it that little extra shine that makes the interior cabin so inviting
