Porsche Panamera Gets New Digs: Tuners Gemballa & 9ff Take A Shot At the Super Sedan

It was only a matter of time before the venerable world of Porsche tuners descended on the new 2010 Panamera. Two German mod shops that are world class, Gemballa and 9ff, are first out of the gate to take a stab at the new super sedan. Neither company has released full details or actual photos but we do have some preliminary information and artistic renderings.

Last week, Gemballa, a customizer known for amazing creations like the Carrera GT-based Mirage GT (Gold Edition, Carbon Edition and Matt Edition) and Porsche 911 Turbo-based Avalanche, revealed their upcoming Mistrale (derived from the cold wind that traverses France's southern region of Provence) tuning package for the 2010 Porsche Panamera. This offering features a more aggressive front end with a revised front fascia, carbon-fiber lip and larger intakes.

There appears to be increased cooling capacity delivered in the form of vertical ducts in the grill and behind the front and rear wheels along with parallel slits in the hood. The rear diffuser sports a stainless steel sport exhaust with tail pipes that have been elevated and centered. To keep things even more interesting the Gemballa Mistrale rides on what looks like 22 inch alloy wheels.

Fresh on the heels of the announcement of the Gemballa Mistrale, 9ff, architect of masterpieces like the Porsche 911 GT2-based 9ff BT2, has revealed their own tuning package for the 2010 Porsche Panamera. This offering includes three tiers of performance kits.

The first tier is the 9ff PT-55, which provides an upgraded ECU and sport air filters for the Turbo model, boosting total output to 550 hp.

The second level is the 9ff PT-60. Here the package offers a full exhaust system with sport catalytic converters, allowing the car to produce 600 horsepower. You probably see a pattern forming here...

The penultimate package is the 9ff PT-65, which, you guessed it, gets upgraded to 650 horsepower. This comes by way of sport air filters, a revised 9ff ECU, a sport exhaust system, new turbochargers and engine bonnets with air vents.

To round out the kit, you also receive 9ff illuminated door sill protectors and 22 inch wheels. And, of course, any kind of custom interior is available.
