2009 Geneva Motor Show - Aston Martin One-77 Technical Showcase

Aston Martin One-77

Aston Martin has been slowly revealing more and more about the One-77 over the last several months. The 2009 Geneva Motor Show gave the company an opportunity to release a slew of details concerning their most expensive and powerful automobile to date.

The Aston Martin One-77 uses the same 6.0-liter V12 engine from the DBS, DB9 and V12 Vantage but reworked and tuned with the help of Cosworth to output a woping 700bhp (553 lb-ft of torque) while reducing engine mass by 25%. 0-60 is estimated to take only 3.5 seconds with a top speed in excess of 200 mph. The car weighs in around 3,300 pounds.

The One-77 will be front engine, rear wheel drive, controlled via a new six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Specially designed Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires will be mounted in sizes 255/35 ZR20 up front and 335/30 ZR20 in back. Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes will provide all the stopping power.

As hinted by the name, there will only be 77 production vehicles available. One car will be delivered by year's end with the carryover coming in 2010. The Aston Martin One-77 was looking like it was going to be the world's most expensive production car priced at £1 million but with the pound depreciating like crazy the Bugatti Veyron still holds the reigns.
