We’re not gonna lie: We’ve been in love with the Alfa Romeo 4C ever since it rolled onto the stage in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011. The very thought of a modern, mid-engine sports car capable of battling the likes of the Lotus Elise/Exige and Porsche Cayman on their home turf while bringing along a heaping helping of Italian personality and zest sets our grown-up bits a-tingle. So it should come as no surprise that seeing how the Milanese marque has executed the definitive production version, with its striking styling, racecar-caliber carbon fiber tub construction and puny-but-peppy turbocharged 1.75L four-banger, makes us all kinds of, um, “excited.” Cleanup on Aisle Us, yo.
Drive’s Chris Harris was also rather amped up about the latest sporting Alfa, even before he attended the recent press launch for the car at the company’s famed Balocco proving grounds. So how does he feel about it now that he’s driven it on the street and the track? Sounds like the same as he did before, only more so. Hopefully we can score some seat time with the 4C for ourselves in the near future, and see if the tune we’re whistling is similar to the one Chris is.
